The Story
Xavier Mañosa grew up in his parents' ceramic workshop but fled to Berlin to become an industrial designer. He eventually returned, merging his modern 'digital generation' mindset with the ancient craft of pottery. Founder of Apparatu, he creates fixtures like the 'Pleat Box' and 'Scotch Club'—ceramic sculptures that look like digitally folded cloth or disco balls, proving that clay can be high-tech.

Ceramic facets. Inspired by the disco ball, the Scotch Club is a ceramic sculpture fired four times to achieve its perfect finish. As a ceiling lamp, its faceted interior—available in brilliant white or 24-carat liquid gold—reflects light in multiple directions, creating a warm, sparkling glow that contrasts with the solid ceramic shell.
