In 2019, Konstantin Grcic introduced the world to Noctambule—a collection of transparent blown glass modules that are virtually invisible by day, yet transform into majestic, glowing columns of light by night. It became an instant modern classic for FLOS.
Now, Grcic returns with Nocturne, a refined and highly modular evolution of that same philosophy. Inspired by the subtle, ethereal glow of the moon, Nocturne shifts the paradigm by connecting the delicate poetry of blown borosilicate glass with the uncompromising logic of extruded aluminium.

Artisanal Craftsmanship Meets Industrial Precision
Nocturne is defined by its material and stylistic contrasts. A signature luminous ring marks the junction between the technical structure and the artisanal glass diffuser.
The integrated, dimmable LED source emits a warm, natural light with exceptionally high colour rendering. It illuminates without glare, creating calibrated reflections and transparencies. The light is materially enhanced as it passes through the blown glass, while the aluminium structure grounds the fixture with a clear, architectural language.
A Modular System for Wall and Floor
Designed with a deeply modular approach, Nocturne adapts seamlessly to its environment. The system features conical and semi-spherical diffusers that emit light ranging from intensely focused to softly ambient, appearing to ignite the glass from within.
The Floor Configuration
The Nocturne Floor is built around a striking 195 cm vertical profile. This low-voltage electrified aluminium track allows multiple diffusers to be arranged and positioned freely at different heights along its length. It acts as an architectural pillar, celebrating the interplay between the void, the glass, and the metal.
The Wall Configuration
The Nocturne Wall version extends the system horizontally. It provides a discreet yet precise accent light, bringing the refined mechanical details and warm glow directly to corridors, bedside areas, or feature walls.
Kinetic Freedom: Rotation and Tilt
Beyond its striking appearance, Nocturne is engineered for dynamic interaction. The Nocturne Floor Cone and Nocturne Wall Cone models allow their diffusers to be smoothly rotated up to 315°, allowing the user to paint the room with light.
Furthermore, on the Floor version, the cone diffuser can be tilted 90° to the right or left relative to the central body, transforming it from a general ambient uplight/downlight into a precise directional projector.
Underneath this poetic design lies discreet technology. A simplified mechanical system ensures ease of installation and maintenance, while integrated thermal elements within the diffusers guarantee the efficiency and durability of the LEDs over time.
